Feng Shui - Eastern Wisdom for Health, Wealth & Happiness
When I received my first Feng Shui book, a Christmas present from my Mother, I was hooked and it changed my life and career. I'm passionate about Feng Shui and the positive effects it can have in our homes and workplaces, and that is why I incorporate the principles of Feng Shui into my interior design projects. When Feng Shui theory is combined with solid design principles the results are amazing. Clients feel a deeper connection to their spaces, and life is often smoother and more enjoyable when their environment supports their short and long term goals.
What Is Feng Shui?
Literally translated, it means wind and water and it is the ancient Eastern art of placement, of living in harmony with our natural and built environment. Feng Shui aims to enhance sheng chi (positive energy) so our immediate surroundings, both internally and externally, can be as supportive as possible.
How Does It Work?
In the practice of Feng Shui, there are 8 principal aspects of life, and to be truly happy and successful we need to have balance in each of these areas:
- Career & Life Path
- Family & Health
- Recognition & Fame
- Children & Creativity
- Education & Knowledge
- Wealth & Prosperity
- Relationships & Marriage
- Helpful People & Patrons
By making changes to our environment it's possible to improve the corresponding areas of our lives. However, if we pay too much attention to one aspect, then other aspects may suffer. Balance is therefore imperative.
Who Can Benefit From Feng Shui?
Anyone can benefit from Feng Shui. It’s suitable for all types of living and working environments and can be used on its own or in conjunction with the interior design of your home or business. Individuals and companies have Feng Shui consultations for a variety of reasons; for example, to help improve relationships, generate wealth, enhance health, wellbeing, lower stress levels, increase motivation and create greater harmony.
Interior Design & Feng Shui
Our surroundings have a lasting effect on our senses and our sense of wellbeing. A design approach incorporating the principles of Feng Shui can create balance and positive energy in any living or working environment. Appropriate use of color, light, form, materials, objects, accessories and furniture placement create harmony, and the thoughtful introduction of flowers and living plants will connect you to nature and emphasize beauty and serenity.
In an office or workplace the same techniques - used differently - can create a stimulating atmosphere, quiet reflective spaces, enhance company morale and compliment corporate branding.
